Wow, what a crazy 5 1/2 weeks we have had here at the Baker household. After the joy of bringing home Sydney, things quickly turned hectic and insane. Exactly one week after entering the hospital to have Sydney, I ended up back in the hospital with a breast infection. I had to be on IV antibiotics for 48 hours. It was very painful and very emotional to be away from my newborn little one for 3 days. On top of that, our little Spencer had to have his tonsils out while I was still in the hospital. Luckily I was released a few hours after his surgery and I was able to go visit him. He was miserable... it was so sad to see him that way. I just had to keep telling myself that it was for the best. Over the last few months his tonsils were so bad that he was breathing at night and was barely eating. He lost several pounds and was not doing well. Now that has all changed. He did have a really hard couple of weeks after the surgery, but now he is doing great. He is back to his old self. Thank goodness.
The next big event was the change of our family dynamics. In a previous post you read that Damon's sister Lozz was here and was staying with us for a year. But unfortunately, due to some medical conditions and extreme headaches that she was having, she decided to go home after only being here for 5 weeks. We were sad to see her go, but she had to make the decision that was right for her. So hopefully, she will do much better in Australia. Now, unfortunately, I am back to the drawing board on who will help me with the kids while I work... but time will tell on that one, and I am trying not to worry about it until it becomes an issue... I guess I am hoping that it won't, but we will see.
We also went to Utah to visit my family, which I always love. Grandma Birthday got to see Sydney and we got to show her off to other friends and family there. We really miss Utah... we are hoping that we will get back soon! We will see how the whole houses situation goes.
Sydney is doing ok, she is just as beatiful as could be, however, we found that she hasn't been gainig weight. It seems that my mild is not giving her the calories she needs to thrive... so it looks like I will be back to the formula routine. I am ok with it this time. For those of you who remember, I really had a hard time when Spencer wouldn't drink at all... but this time I have come to terms that this is just the way it has to be. The bottom line is I want her to be healthy and grow normally and if formula is the way for that to happen, then so be it.
Now we are planning our next adventure which I will update you all on when we return. I hope you enjoy the new pics and remember, if you have a blog and we don't know about it, please let us know what the address is.
